This course provides students with the knowledge and opportunity to explore drawing and to create individual works of art. The discussion and exploration of major artists and art movements will help students develop their own artistic style. The course covers the language, materials, and processes of drawing and the design elements and principles supporting a work of art. A variety of media such as pencil, charcoal, pastel, pen and ink, and mixed media will be used to complete works in still life, portraits, figure, and perspective.
